Type Locality and Naming

The type section lies from Shaogang Village to Manze, Kangmar (Kangma) County, Tibet. It was named by Liang Dingyi and Wang Weiping in 1983.


Lithology and Thickness

Claystone. Gray-black and black-green silty slate and carbonaceous slate, intercalated with siltstone, fine-grained sandstone and limestone lenses. Northward to the Langba and Manzai areas, the rocks turn into spotted slate and phyllite to slate intercalated with mica quartz schist, with a layer of pebbly quartz sandstone lenses at bottom. 350−400 m in thickness.

Conformable contact with the Guzi Fm in most areas

Conformable transitional contact with the Lower Permian Kepu Fm in most areas (called Kewoxiga Fm in Permian column for Kangmar region)
